Development of a Virtual Reality-Based System for Simulating Welding Processes

Arc welding processes, such as shielded metal arc (SMAW), inert gas (MIG), and tungsten (TIG), play an important role in industrial applications. To improve the efficiency of exploitation traditional systems, new technologies have been used. Virtual reality technology is one them. The virtual (VR)-based system enables to increase frequency practice help learners obtain experience avoid errors that occur during actual processes. This paper presents a VR-based for simulating three processes: SMAW, MIG, TIG. developed includes hardware components VR software installed on computer. change physical devices, moving torch distance from plates generate weld bead, will update real time appear environment. functionality environment, was tested successfully.
